Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Cold whole milk
  • 3/4 cup Sugar
  • 2 cups Cold heavy cream
  • 1 tsp Peppermint extract More if you prefer a stronger mint taste
  • 1/2 cup Mini dark chocolate chips Fine chopped chocolate if you can't find chips
  • 2-3 drops Green food coloring Optional for that classic green look

Instructions

  • Whisk milk and sugar until well combined and sugar is melted into the mixture
  • Add heavy cream, peppermint extract, and optional food coloring. Mix until well combined
  • With machine running, pour the mixture into the ice cream maker and churn for 25 minutes
  • Add chocolate chips to the mixture and continue to churn for an additional 5 minutes
  • Freeze ice cream in the bowl or freezer safe container for at least one hour prior to serving
