Instructions
Prepare The Peaches
Peel, pit and slice peaches into a bowl. Sprinkle with enough sugar to coat and sweeten peaches.
Add cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, and flour to peaches. Stir to combine thoroughly
Dump peach mixture into a greased 9x9 baking dish
Prepare The Cobbler Dough
In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. Add butter and mix into the flour until crumbly
Add beaten egg and milk. Mix to form a thick batter
Drop batter by teaspoonfuls over peaches in an even layer, noting that the dough will not cover all the peaches
Make The Topping
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the sugar, water, and butter until it comes to a boil
Remove from heat and pour the sauce over the dough
Bake The Cobbler
Place the cobbler into a preheated 375 degree oven and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until golden brown on top and peaches are bubbling around the edges
Serve warm and enjoy!
